I AM LEGEND – ALTERNATE ENDING

Whilst it’s debatable if the Night Creatures in I AM LEGEND are in fact Zombies (they were referred to as mutants in The Omega Man). I AM LEGEND ticks almost all the other qualifying boxes to rate as a bona fide Zombie flick. An overgrown New York complete with lions and deer makes a perfect zombie setting and Will Smith ( although a second rate actor) manages to convey the insanity of solitude we would all experience if left completely alone in such a hostile environment.

This alternate ending is a fair exchange for the one in the cinema release version as both ignore the simple fact ( which all the best zombie flicks adhere to ) that you can’t cure the undead and those who are unfortunate enough to survive can never return to normality. THERE IS NO HOPE!
