28 WEEKS LATER 2007

Casting a well known face in the lead role of a Zombie flick is almost completely unheard of, but that didn’t stop Danny Boyle offering the part to his long time cohort Robert Carlyle.

In truth Boyle probably secretly acknowledged the fact that his 28 DAYS LATER sequel 28 WEEKS LATER was little more than an attempt to cash in on his previous low budget success and felt it needed something extra to pull in audiences.

In reality he shouldn’t have bothered going to the extra expense. Carlyle offers nothing to the role that a talented amatuer wouldn’t have provided for a fraction of the cost.

With that said, Boyle’s Zombies are second to none. His concept of “RAGE” infected victims running amok at a frightening pace with no mercy or reservation makes for brilliant entertainment.

A definite MUST HAVE to play back to back if you already own 28 DAYS LATER.
